[CVCC_Members] Tenna installation?

I have a shiny new Ford F250 with an aluminum body/bed.  I purchased a stake pocket mount so no drilling etc on body.  Well, the swr on the antenna is astronomical…… I added a ground strap between the cab and the bed, did not help.  So, to test where the issue is  I added a lip mount tenna on the cab……swr is less that 1:1.   The stake mount is only grounded thru the compression grips on each side.   Any ideas on what I am overlooking for this installation.  Really don’t want to use front fender mount if possible.
Oh, the antenna is a Comet SBB-25
