Groups.io has been recommended to me by a couple of sources. Is the 1 gB limitation a problem. We have 0 gB now. What happens after the 1gB is reached? Is older stuff just deleted? Yes, $20 a month is much too high for our very little use.

Unless I’m understanding it incorrectly, there’s a difference between a group service and an email reflector. All the group services I’ve seen also store the conversations for topic browsing and searching. A reflector operates like one of our repeaters; it just rebroadcasts what the transmitter (sender) is saying to all those monitoring the frequency (subscribers). Stores nothing. Free groups have very little storage space. Groups.IO is 1gb. Next level is $20/ month. The CVCC reflector is set not to allow formatted attachments because of the inherent dangers of embedded malware that would then be sent to all at once. If everyone is willing to accept that risk I’ll look into turning it on. The other option is to make it a moderated list where a designated moderator reviews every email before allowing it to go out to all. Downside is delays and work for the moderator(s). I’ll look around and see what else is out there. If any of you are subscribers to another reflector, send me the name. Mailman is the most common one in use as it’s an open source email software manager , meaning free. You still have to pay someone to host the server it runs on. I agree it’s limiting. I wanted to share some pictures and tried to change some settings to allow that but failed. I probably am not doing something right in the settings. The floor is open for suggestions. 73Ronnie, WU4G

I find it impossible to post any sort of tabulated data on this reflector without getting the format all screwed up! Also you cannot attach any sort of file to a message. Can we perhaps join google groups or some other group that allows attachments. Is that an additional cost to do so. Why do we need to stay with this one?
